At the age of 28 he was the first to commit a theft with theft. He met a woman named Esperanza whom he wanted to marry. After finding out that she is no longer a virgin, he ordered her to search for virgins so that they could stay together. As an accomplice, Esperanza lured several girls into an apartment where Barbosa raped them. On April 10, 1964, both were sent to different prisons for these acts. She was sentenced to 3 years in prison while serving eight years.

The murder series begins
In 1973 Barbosa was released. A short time later, he killed a 9-year-old girl - his first murder victim. Barbosa is now 44 years old. In May 1974, he was arrested again for the crime. In December 1977, he received a 25-year prison sentence, which he was to spend on the prison island of Gorgona. In November 1984 he managed to escape from this island with a small boat.
It is assumed that he was subsequently stranded in Ecuador. From 1984 to 1986, he raped and murdered at least 54 young girls in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The police assumed a criminal organization in this series of murders. In late February 1986, Barbosa was arrested again in Quito, Ecuador, a few minutes after he murdered another girl. He carried a bag full of blood. Barbosa then confessed to the murders of 71 young girls in the greater Ecuador area. He cooperated with the police by taking them to most of his victims' bodies and describing the actions in detail.

In 1989 he was sentenced to a 16-year prison sentence in Ecuador, which was the maximum sentence. November 1994 Daniel Camargo Barbosa was killed in prison by a victim's cousin, Luis Masache Narvaez.
